SurfJoy is built a little differently.

"For a long time, I’ve been puzzled by some of the expectations placed on independent artists.

Creators are often told that to be considered a “real” brand, they should invest heavily in inventory, store products themselves, and absorb the financial risk if those products don’t sell. Garment production also consumes valuable resources like water and electricity, while generating plastic waste long before a product even reaches the shelf in stores.

I’ve never been convinced that these expectations serve artists (or our planet) well. Made-to-order production flips the traditional retail model on its head.

SurfJoy products are created when someone actually wants them. Aside from eliminating waste, Print on demand fulfillment provides something especially valuable for independent creators: time to create.

Every SurfJoy design begins as an illustration in my sketchbook. Before a product reaches my online store, I sample it on premium blanks to ensure it meets my standards for quality, comfort, and print durability.

Once a product is approved, it becomes available as a made-to-order item. Your item isn’t sitting in a warehouse waiting to be purchased, it’s created specifically for you when you place an order.

I believe that’s a better way to make things.

SurfJoy is powered by ideas, artwork, and the people who connect with its stories. Print-on-demand allows those ideas to exist in a more sustainable way. My goal has never been to make more stuff. It’s to make things worth making."
